"DeepSeek" free or not? Safe or Unsafe? Unique or pre existing? Origin?


DeepSeek’s latest app comes just a few days after US President Donald Trump announced a new $500 billion venture with ChatGPT maker OpenAI, Softbank and Oracle, dubbed Stargate,for ensuring “the future of technology" in the US, as stated by US President Donald Trump.

Silicon Valley venture capitalist Marc Andreessen has hailed DeepSeek as “one of the most amazing and impressive breakthroughs" in AI, as reported by BBC.


Liang Wenfeng is the founder of DeepSeek. He belongs from China.
Now the following question arises.

Is DeepSeek free?
Yes, the Chinese first AI app is free. It has become the most top-rated And downloaded free app in the US. 

Is it unique or has similarities with existing app?
Although it's new and unique version of itself but it does has similarities with Chatgpt, Gemini and Claude AI. 

Is DeepSeek AI safe to use?
Data safety experts have warned users to be careful while using the app. According to them, it collects large amount of personal data and then store in servers of China.
US officials are also considering the national security implications of DeepSeek's emergence, according to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
"I spoke with [the National Security Council] this morning, they are looking into what [the national security implications] may be," said Ms Leavitt, who also restated US President Donald Trump's remarks a day earlier that DeepSeek should be a wake-up call for the US tech industry.


The announcement comes after the US navy reportedly banned its members from using DeepSeek's apps due to "potential security and ethical concerns".
According to CNBC, the US navy has sent an email to its staff warning them not to use the DeepSeek app due to "potential security and ethical concerns associated with the model's origin and usage".



Vision of DeepSeek 

“To be honest, we didn’t really care — it was just something we did along the way,” he said in a widely shared interview with 36Kr, a Chinese tech outlet. “Providing cloud services is not our main goal. Our aim is still to achieve A.G.I.” (DeepSeek has remained mostly silent this week and has not responded to requests for comment.)
